We purchased a product (Nalley Dill pickles) at north Spokane Costco that has yellow dye #5 in it- -dangerous to health. Furthermore, the pickles have a Nalley label but are made by a company called treehouse/bay valley foods--doesnt even sppear to be a Nalley's product and then us putting DYE in the pickles!!
Please stop putting unsafe ingredients in products. Also put the correct label on products made by another food company..dont purcase pro

Verified ReviewerChange in Quality
Nalley's Chili, until about a year ago, was my favorite canned Chili. No more.
Gone are the days of a solid product when the can was opened, replaced with a very watery, soup-like experience. Oh, it still tastes much as it did but has no body. Who made this change? Less meat and more beans?
Did you think that we consumers wouldn't notice?
Take us back to the previous formulation, even if it means paying more. Thank you.
- Tasty
- Diminished quality
Preferred solution: Return production to previous standard.
Hairy bone found in a can of chili
We recently purchased a case of Nalley's chili from Costco.
I ate half of a can and at the bottom of the bowl found what appears to be a bone with hair on it...possibly a mouse at some point in time?
We won't be eating the rest of the case!!!

Verified Reviewer |Watered down chili
I have been enjoying Nalley's Chili for years. Then, I took a break but had some from a couple of years ago.
It was thick and yummy. When I saw the prices went up, I had to get a couple more, and when I got home, I opened a can and it spilled. Chili in a can like soup? I thought it was just a bad batch, but I bought a couple more and again, they were watered down.
The cans went from 75 cents to over 2 dollars. Not only did the price go up, the quality went down.
Now, I make my own chili as it is so thick when hot, a spoon will stand up in a bowl, and Nalley's Chili is like soup. I would not suggest this, as once it was good, now it's watered down.
- Price is high
- Chili is watered down
Preferred solution: The company stops watering down the chili

Verified ReviewerI found rubber in my chilli.i think i ate some.so gross
I heated up a can of regular Nellie's chili and was sitting there eating it when I suddenly realized there was something strange in my mouth. I spit it out and found a huge piece of rubber inside my chili, and I think I swallowed some of it.
I have four different pictures that I took. I did throw the piece of rubber away because looking at it makes me want to throw up.
- I love nalley food been eatting for years my first problem ever
- This could make people really sick
Preferred solution: I would like them to pull this lot so that other people don't go through this.Because if that was a piece of rubber or whatever it was if I was a child it would have stuck in my throat not to mention the bacteria it may be carrying,

Verified ReviewerCase of chili from Costco very watery.
Change in product. Mostly water.
There used to be a lot more chili and beans in the chili. Was the change made to generate more money?
User's recommendation: Until Nalley fixes this don’t buy it.
Bad chili. … meat all shredded tiny specs yuck
What the heck is going on. Nalleys has been my favorite chilli and now its a watered down mush of soup.
Plz change this. It was my go to forever. Plz make this right.
Obviously Im not the only one. What a rip off.
User's recommendation: Don’t buy
Terrible Chilli..no taste at al
Nalleys chilli use to be the best..not anymore..it's watered down , tasteless and yucky..The beans look anemic..will be returning to costco..and no longer buying Nalleys chilli..What a shame..someone wanted to save a few bucks and ruined a delicious chilling. Don't buy.

Verified Buyer |Opened two cans of Nalley Big Chunk No Beans chili. Both cans were 2/3 water. This made me fear they were tainted with botulism so I threw away the contents. From loyal customer to never buy again.
I have always felt Nalley made the best, highest quality canned chili. I purchased several cans dated May 2025.
I opened the first can and instead of thick chili I found water. The bottom third of the can contained what may have been finely shredded meat. I did not feel safe serving the contents to my family fearing they may become seriously ill, so I threw the small amount of chili away and opened another can to find the same thing.
I shook the remaining cans and they all sounded like water instead of thick chili. What ever has happened to Nalley has cause me to lose confidence in a company I have always trusted.
User's recommendation: This is not the superior product you have been loyal too. Try another brand.

Changed product
Long time Nalleys Hot Chili fan. Was for many years along with my Dad.
Not anymore! I see youre great chili has been changed within the last couple of years. A few months ago I thought I would stock up, I bought two cases. Im sorry I did!
Ill be giving it to the food bank and never buying another can! Youre chili is now watery like soup and bland tasting! Youve ruined a very good thing.
You lost two long time customers. And Im sure many others.
User's recommendation: Don’t buy

Verified ReviewerI bought two cases of thick chili they're both like soup very disappointed nothing like it used to be
Put some product in the can instead of water. My parents have been buying this ever since I was a kid, so I've had a lot of this, and I know what it's supposed to look like.
I don't know what happened, but the thick chili is absolutely like soup.
I hope every can of thick chili is not like this. The old chili used to have to be scooped out of the can with a spoon; this came out like chicken noodle soup.
Preferred solution: It is what it is not impressed anymore with this chili
User's recommendation: There's nothing thick about this chili anymore

Verified ReviewerComplaint from consumet
I purchased 2 cans of Nalley chili from my local market. I opened the cans to consume and ate some.
I heated up the chili in microwave and saw a long object on the top. I took the object out and put it in a baggie. I have asked friends what it is. My first guess is tapeworm..could you tell me what i have to do to be compensated for my purchase?
Should i go back to my market to file a complaint? I have a video and the picture of the receipt.
- Minimum cooking time
- Poor content
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Check your product before consumption
Pathetic how bad this is now
I used to be obsessed with this chili, Id make dips, chili dogs, eat it straight. Its so watery and unflavored now, it literally looks like soup.
Its one of the more expensive chilis now, and is literally the worst value for the money. I miss the old Nalleys from the early 2000s, even the chili from 2017!
User's recommendation: Dont waste your money on this watery bean mess

Totally agree, and even with the ones that I find not watered down taste bad as well.
