You lost a customer!

You raised your prices and watered down your chili! NO MORE!! I'm going to a different brand. Seriously! Would you buy that for your family?

Very disappointed

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Nalley Foods - Very disappointed

I purchased several cans of Nalley chili and was looking forward to having a bowl of chili. I heated up my chili and was enjoying every bite until I took a bite and bit down on something hard.

I thought maybe it was a rock or something but when I took it out of my mouth I found a piece of bone! I couldn't believe it. Needless to say that ruined my appetite and I threw the rest of that chili away as well as the several other cans I purchased because I didn't want to find any more bone fragments in my chili. I wrote a letter to the Nalley company about this incident and was shocked when I got a letter back from them apologizing and they said due to this horrible experience I had with their chili they wanted to give me something for my trouble.

What they gave me was 2 $1.00 off coupons if I decided to buy any more cans of their chili. The coupons expired after 1 week and the chili costs over $2. I guess their customers safety doesn't concern them enough to provide their customer their money back or at least a free coupon for their product (not that I would take a chance again anyways). Advice: DON'T BUY!!

You never know what you'll find in their chili! Very disgusting and horrible experience. What if I would have choked on the bone?

I bet they wouldn't care at all. So much for customer safety and satisfaction!!

Cons:
  • Poor product quality and bone fragments in product

Preferred solution: Full refund for the cans of chili I had to throw away after finding bone fragments in the chili. Also I would like for the company to inspect their product better to ensure no other customers have the same bad experience.

User's recommendation: DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND FINDING BONE FRAGMENTS IN YOUR CHILI

Nalley Original Chili

Nalley Foods - Nalley Original Chili

We were long time fans of Nalley Chili in several available varieties. As of January 2024, the quality of the original style is unacceptable.

After opening, we always had to use a spoon to empty the thick chili, especially toward the bottom of every 15oz can, that was packed with beans and meat. This year we noticed the can made noise when moved, it clearly has more liquid inside. Upon opening, we were shocked to see half the contents consisted of liquid. Watery, slightly oily liquid.

The cans completely pour out without use of any utensils. The pyrex bowl I've always used to microwave my meal looked more like chili soup. It heats in 1/2 the time and stayed thin with very little meat in small crumbles and maybe 1/2 the beans of many years before. Scooping mouthfuls with tortilla chips is my favorite Nalley Chili indulgence but now the substance falls off the chip and tastes as watered down as it looks.

SHAME ON YOU FOR CHEATING CONSUMERS ON A ONCE DELICIOUS AND PROTEIN RICH MEAL. You have lost my family's patronage. Nalley makes a plethora of products that we have no desire to risk the same disappointment in quality and taste. Again Nalley, shame on you.

I would have preferred a price increase to quality destruction. I will be sharing our bitter experience through multiple social medias and popular recipe sites.

Discussing watered down chili

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They're cutting corners by watering down their products! Chili should be THICK! You can't even use their chili for chili burgers or chili dogs!

User's recommendation: Don't buy their chili. Even their thick chili is watery than soup.

So much water about zero beans, this was awful

Nalley's jalapeno chili with beans had no beans, absolutely runny and awful. Stay away, don't buy it. It's so runny and there's zero meat, it's just slime.

Thick chilli is now soup, WHAT HAPPENED?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have always bought 12 cans of thick chilli, without issues. However, since Bidenomics, the used to be, as advertised, thick chilli is no longer thick, but THIN CHILLI! Super bummed, not seeing 12 cans in mycart per month anymore. Please, stop watering down your products!

This review pertains to Nalleys original chili. To be blunt it sucks. We have noticed over time it is more like a soup with beans. Seriously considering changing chili.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Add more beans and meat to your chili would make it more like it used to be instead of a bean soup. That would keep your customers happy.

Recent detrimental recipe change

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
For decades I have bought Nalley's Chili by the case and ate it on average once a week. No more. In this last case of what the label calls chili, I find what's really just a chili-type SOUP. Please bring back the true, thick chili we used to be able to enjoy. Don't be ordinary.

Preferred solution: Just restoration of the good recipe.

User's recommendation: This isn't chili, it's just another chili-type soup.

False product claims

Your product 'BIG CHUNK no beans chili con carne' could not be further from the truth. The can I opened was basically just brown water. No big chunks of anything. Taste was also poor. Nalley chili was always my go-to brand. That's not going to be the case anymore.

I've been a Nalley's canned chili fan for decades. Bought it by the case so as to be sure I always had it on hand, ate it on average once a week for years. But this most recent case will change all that. Previously it was a thick chili. Now it's a watery soup. Please return to the GOOD recipe!

Chili full of water

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Nalley chili full of water. Prices almost double and you get water? Crooked companies should not be in business. Theyre already serving you biproduct garbage for top dollar and yet they still have to stiff you even more with tap water.
