Product complaint

AI Highlights
  • - Longtime customer says your turkey chili was loved, but recent cans are pale, tasteless, and lacking spice.
  • - They wonder if the recipe changed or if this is permanent.

For years we've bought your turkey chili and loved it. Now, not so much.

Did you change the recipe? The last two cans' contents have been pale and tasteless. No spice at all.

What happened? I hope this is not permanent because you're the only brand that makes this.

User's recommendation: Buy the regular chili and skip the turkey

  • - I've eaten Nalleys pickles for years.

I was trying to order your pickles directly because I cannot find them anywhere here in Yuma Arizona. The person I spoke with was very nice and polite.

He couldn't help me though.

Eve been eating your pickles for years and now nothing else even compares to Nalleys brand. All contact I've had with your company has been great, professional, and understanding.

Quality of Nalley's chili

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Cans are now over half liquid and beans changed, altering taste.
  • - The reviewer will no longer buy this chili and will seek a better-tasting option.

I have purchased Nalley's chili for over twenty years, and within the last six months, I have noticed a change in the quality and taste of its chili. The cans now are over 1/2 liquid, and the beans have changed, which leaves a totally different taste than in years past.

This was always a staple in our home with three children to feed, but I'm wasting my money on today's Nalley's chili. I'm very, very disappointed - it's too bad that your company had to resort to adding more liquid and a poorer-tasting bean to strengthen your demand. My family and several members of my extended family will no longer buy this product and will look for a much better tasting chili.

Thank you (I'm not sure if this complaint will even be read, let alone change the quality of Nalley's chili). Barbara Oelhafen

I opened a can of Nalley jalapeno hot chili, and found a large piece of clear plastic in the can.astic in with the chili.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I do not expect to open a can of food and find foreign materials mixed in with the can contents. Does not inspire confidence in the sanitary conditions of the food preparation. I have saved the plastic and the can it was in if Nalley wants to follow up on this.

User's recommendation: use discretion

Watered down tasteless 38 once can beef stew had no meat, 2 slices of carrots, 22 square chunks potatoes, was 75 percent tasteless water, after many years of satisfying exellent stew, i will never buy

The company will send a gift certificate for one can. I'm stuck with seven cans of glorified dog flavor on my dog's dry food.

User's recommendation: Never buy this product ever again

Nalley Original Chili Con Carne with Beans

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My husband and I have favored your above referenced beans for years. It was always thick and tasty.

We loved it.

The last couple of cans I threw away. When opened we poured so much water out. It had a few tiny little things I guess I would call meat and a few beans. I guess this is how you are saving money and cutting back.

I wont be buying your product again.

We find your product is no longer edible. You should quit making it.

User's recommendation: Don’t buy this product. The quality is no longer there.

Bland tasting chili

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We havent had our favorite Nalley Original chili for a few months. We purchased some to make for dinner tonight.

We both agree that it had ZERO flavor. We have been eating this chili for 50+ years in my family so we recognized a change in flavor right away. Dinner was ruined. There were no seasonings in the chili at all.

Bland was an understatement there was no flavor at all.

Neither of us finished our bowls. Change Americas best chili back to the way it used to be.

User's recommendation: Don’t buy this canned trash. Make your own at home and add some good seasoning to it.

Update: Northwest made Nalley's chili was bought out and moved back east by another food company and it was clearly a means of killing the competition by making it an inferior product. Sad but true ....Mission accomplished I guess.

The hot chili has been watered down and is not good anymore

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have purchased my last can of Nally's chili. Whoever had the bright idea of adding more water is an idiot; it ruined the chili.

I would rather have a smaller can of the original than the watered-down version you are selling now. It not only changed the texture; it changed the flavor also. It's close to a soup now and does not make for a good chili dog, as it destroys the bun and just makes it a soggy mess.

Shake the can; it moves like soup. The old chili didn't move if you shook the can.

Preferred solution: Go back to the way it was before you watered it down

User's recommendation: If you want a watery less flavorful chili this is it.

I contacted Nalley who's owned by some big food company now and they did everything they could to make it sound like a fluke. I was raised on Nalley chili, and used to buy it by the case at Cosco. I miss it, but wont waste my money again

This has been happening for a couple years now. We always shake our cans before purchasing them.

The label is now wrong for what is inside the can.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I'm a type one diabetic. I have to trust the label to give my insulin.

Nally's chili is not at all what it used to be, and I'm experiencing extreme low blood sugar to prove it. This could be life-threatening for me.

I'm open to a lawsuit. As a dietitian as well, I'd be good to have on board.

Loss:
$15
Cons:
  • Are not who they used to be

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Decrease carbs significantly. More than half it seems.

Bally chili not edible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Can full of water and flavorless beans and not sure its meat. When made in Tacoma it was very popular brand of chili.

My grocer has practically removed Nalleys from shelves. I have chosen Dennisons chili as my favorite for canned chili.

Whoever owns Nalleys now should be ashamed and sued for calling that garbage .. chili!

User's recommendation: But another brand.

Northwest Nalley's was bought out and moved back east. My theory is it was just to kill the brand, thus the competition ......very sad

No chili seasoning.
